Tellure Rôta was established in 1953 in Modena, as a small craftsmen company, by 2 partners: Mr Roberto Lancellotti, our current chairman, and Mr Enrico Rota. Before establishing as a manufacturer of wheels and castors, Mr Roberto Lancellotti was the owner of a small real estate, called “Tellure”.
So, the brand “Tellure Rota” is the successful combination of that name,Tellure, and the last name of the other founder, Rota. We said successful combination because in latin language Tellure Rota means:
tellus, telluris: ground and rota – rotae: wheel.

“Tellus” is also one of the various names of the Roman “earth and fertility” goddess, known as “Ceres”. “Tellure Rota” stands for “ground wheel” or “wheel for the ground”, with consequent qualities of industry, concretness and fertility…
